The Who are assisted by Pearl Jam and Kasabian for Quadraphenia show

I did in fact write this the day after the last Teenage Cancer Trust gig but I have been away from a computer for several days so I have only just been able to put this up!

Last night (March 30) The Who, joined by special guests, wrapped up the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs by performing the entirety of Quadraphenia.

The rock legends were joined on stage at The Royal Albert Hall by Kasabian’s Tom Meighan and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.

The show was the first time Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry had performed the album live since their 1990s ‘Quadraphenia’ tour.

On a screen in the background snippets of a remastered version of the ‘Quadraphenia’ film were shown, plus stills of the band and scenes from the ‘60s.

Kasabian’s Meighan changed from a silver mod suit to a bell boy outfit in the concert. During the song ‘Bell Boy’ he even took to the back of the stage to sing the part of Keith Moon’s vocals whereas Pearl Jam’s Vedder joined Daltry for a duet of ‘The Punk And The Godfather’.

Also taking to the stage was world famous bassist Pino Palladino, Zak Starkey on drums and Simon Townshend on guitar.

This year’s Teenage Cancer Trust gigs included performances from Noel Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, The Mighty Boosh, and many others.
